Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic and Derby County reportedly want Hibernian’s John McGinn.

John McGinn has reportedly been on the radar of a number of clubs for a while, including Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and Sunderland, but the Hibernian midfielder has just been linked with the perfect team for him – Derby County.

According to The Sun, Derby manager Frank Lampard is interested in McGinn and is willing to pay £3 million as transfer fee in order to secure the services of the Scotland international in the summer transfer window.

Ibrox club Rangers, Leeds and Celtic all are interested in McGinn, according to The Scottish Sun, which has also claimed that Sunderland manager Jack Ross wants the former St. Mirren star at the Stadium of Light.

McGinn, though, should snub the likes of Celtic and Sunderland to join Derby where he would work with one of the greatest midfielders of all time in Lampard.

The Chelsea legend is one of the best players to have ever featured in the Premier League, and working with a fellow (former) midfielder would only help McGinn.

True, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is a brilliant manager and is far more experienced than Lampard – for whom the Derby job will be his first – but McGinn would learn a lot more from the ex-West Ham United star.

Derby will be aiming to win promotion from the Championship and Lampard will have fresh ideas, and McGinn, 23, would also get the chance to showcase his quality at one of the biggest clubs in England and perhaps even catch the attention of teams in the Premier League.
