John McGinn has been in outstanding form for Aston Villa during pre-season.

The likes of Henri Lansbury and Tammy Abraham lauded John McGinn on Instagram after he scored a brilliant goal for Aston Villa during their pre-season win against Charlton on Saturday.
Dean Smith’s side netted four goals at the Valley, with midfielder McGinn netting a ridiculous solo goal by winning the ball back in typical fashion and then going on a brilliant run.
Last season, McGinn was Villa’s best player, and as they head into the Premier League, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s their best player again ahead of the new campaign.
Here is McGinn sending a message on his personal Instagram account, with the likes of Lansbury, Abraham and Yannick Bolasie all responding by making reference to the goal he scored against Charlton.
It seems as though McGinn’s performances from last season and what he has been doing in pre-season hasn’t gone unnoticed.
The Sun recently claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson wants Manchester United to sign £50 million rated McGinn this summer, with the Premier League legend close friends with McGinn’s grandfather.
Given the high quality of youngsters Villa have on their books, and now the fact that they are in the Premier League, interest in their players will skyrocket this season, especially if the team plays well.
But until then, the Villa Park faithful will be hoping McGinn can continue his recent form into the start of the season with Smith’s side taking on Tottenham on the opening day.
