Aston Villa’s John McGinn has discussed his ‘risk’ of a move.

Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn has told the Daily Record that he snubbed Premier League clubs in order to join Villa – and believes they’re bigger than those clubs anyway.
Villa are back in the Premier League after a three-year exile, beating Derby County 2-1 in the Championship playoff final on Monday afternoon.
Anwar El Ghazi headed Villa in front in the first half, and McGinn managed to bundle the ball over the line to double the lead after the break.
Jack Marriott pulled one back for Derby, but Villa held on and claimed the victory, exorcising the demons from their playoff final defeat to Fulham last year.
Match-winner McGinn was the hero again, having enjoyed a superb season for Villa, justifying Steve Bruce’s decision to sign him from Hibernian last summer.
The 24-year-old hit nine goals and 12 assists this season, becoming one of the top midfielders in the Championship – and he’ll be hoping to take that form into the Premier League next season.

McGinn has now admitted that he had offers from Premier League clubs, but he rejected them all due to playing time – and feels that Villa are bigger than those clubs anyway, and believing this risk has been justified now.
“It’s a dream. I had the option of going to a couple of Premier League clubs but they couldn’t guarantee me games,” said McGinn. “So I took a risk and came to Villa, which is a bigger club than the others anyway. Villa guaranteed me game time and my decision is justified and we will be in the Premier League next season,” he added.
