Speaking on the Soccer AM YouTube channel, John McGinn has claimed that Marvelous Nakamba is the fittest player at Aston Villa.

The midfielder was playing a game where he had to guess which player had the highest stats on FIFA 21 in certain attributes, and when it came to stamina, he thought that Nakamba would rule the roost at Villa Park.

Interestingly, FIFA 21 rates McGinn himself as the player at the club with the highest stamina, and while McGinn was happy to receive that kind of recognition, he believes that Nakamba is the fittest player at Villa.

“I always remember on FIFA they give me good stamina in whichever team I’m playing for, so I thought I would be up there, but Nakamba is the fittest I would say, he does get about the pitch very well.”

This is certainly interesting to hear.

Villa have a number of players who are incredibly fit, with the likes of McGinn himself and Matty Cash motoring up and down the pitch for the full 90 minutes every week.

From the outside looking in, we’d have backed Ollie Watkins to be the fittest player at Villa. After all, he’s always pressing defenders and he’s played every single minute in the Premier League this term.

However, McGinn seems to think that Nakamba is the fittest player at the club.
