The Hoops have added three players to their squad this summer.
Celtic assistant manager John Kennedy
Celtic assistant manager John Kennedy has admitted that the club want to add ‘one or two’ to the squad before the close of the window.
The former Hoops defender was taking a press conference earlier today, ahead of tomorrow’s League Cup clash with Motherwell, when he was asked if the squad needed more additions:
Brendan Rodgers has overseen the recruitment of Moussa Dembele, Kolo Toure and Scott Sinclair so far this summer and he may not be finished there.
Celtic are gradually starting to take shape under their new boss but there are still some areas where improvements could be made.
Manchester United’s Paddy McNair in action
Paddy McNair has been linked with a loan move to Parkhead – according to the Daily Record – but with Erik Sviatchenko returning to fitness, Toure bolstering the squad, Eoghan O’Connell proving his worth and the Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata still to return, it doesn’t seem like another centre-back option is required.
Tottenham’s Michel Vorm
Suitable backup for Craig Gordon is required however, and Tottenham number two Michel Vorm has been one mooted option – as reported by the Scotsman.
With just over three weeks left until the close of the window, Rodgers will be scouring the market to find the final pieces to his Celtic puzzle ahead of a Champions League return.
