John Heitinga said on Stadium Astro that Liverpool forward Sadio Mane was frustrated against Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Liverpool suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Everton at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Reds had the bulk of the possession, but the defending Premier League champions failed to make the most of them.

Former Everton central defender Heitinga believes that Liverpool forward Mane was frustrated in the Merseyside derby.

Heitinga said on Stadium Astro: “If you see the players upfront from Liverpool, normally they make the difference and they have the quality, but what I saw tonight with Mane, he was just frustrated, he was just frustrated.”

How did Sadio Mane play against Everton?

Mane did work hard and tried to make things happen, but the 28-year-old could not find the final ball.

The Senegal international forward did run at the Everton defenders, but he also failed to score form two good headers.

According to WhoScored, the 28-year-old played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 81.5%, won one header, took 56 touches, attempted four dribbles, made one clearance, and put in four crosses.

Meanwhile, former Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh has predicted on Twitter that following the defeat to Everton in the Merseyside derby, Liverpool will now go on a winning run.
