Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is currently on international duty with England.

John Hartson has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane proved why he is one of the most ‘sought-after’ players in the world following his performance during England’s 5-0 win over the Czech Republic on Friday.

The BBC pundit was in awe of the 25-year-old’s display, who scored his country’s second goal of the game from the penalty spot as Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling netted a hat-trick at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate’s side began their road to Euro 2020 with an emphatic three points as they comfortably dispatched arguably the second best team in their qualifying group.

Speaking to Football Focus on BBC One (23/03/2019 at 12:10 pm), Hartson waxed-lyrical about Kane being one of the best all-rounded players in the game.

“I have always liked Harry Kane,” Hartson told Football Focus. “I think he has everything a striker needs. He’s a focal point, he can head it, he can win it at the back post, he can get across the near, he’s got a bit of pace and makes great runs.

“That’s why he is arguably one of the most sought-after centre-forwards in world football right now. He can be your best number 10. He can be your best number nine! He’s just an all-round great football player.”

England boss Southgate will be hoping his players can maintain their 100% record when they travel to Montenegro on Monday for their second qualifier.

Striker Kane will most likely lead the line once again for the Three Lions, who will no doubt be one of the favourites for the next major tournament following their performance during the World Cup in Russia.

After the international break, domestic football will return, with the final few months of the season set to be nerve-racking for those teams chasing titles, top-four places, promotion or looking to survive in their respective leagues.

Kane will be looking to help Tottenham secure their Champions League place as he will also be looking to add to the 17 league goals he has scored for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season [transfermarkt].
