John Hartson has taken to Twitter to react after Ange Postecoglou lost his cool following the 1-1 draw between Celtic and Shakhtar Donetsk.
What’s the story?
Well, the 57-year-old was told to speak closer into the microphone during his press conference, after a frustrating night in the Champions League for Celtic.
Postecoglou – clearly annoyed that his side failed to win the game – did not enjoy being told what to do, and told the reporter to “keep things simple” while also saying “don’t correct me” in blunt fashion.
After watching the 26-second footage on Twitter, Hartson defended the Australian, and said that the “reporter needs to check his ears” – you can see his tweet in full below.
Postecoglou seemed to be speaking loud enough for everyone else in the room to hear, although you can understand why he snapped after such a difficult night for his side in the Champions League.
Ange Postecoglou deserved to see Celtic beat Shakhtar Donetsk
In our view, Postecoglou may feel slightly let down by his players after last night, as his tactical plans created more than enough chances to win the game.
As WhoScored shows, Celtic had 16 shots in comparison to just five from Shakhtar Donetsk, while also registering 56.4% of the possession.

Six of Celtic’s shots were on target, so Postecoglou has every right to feel disappointed that his side only scored one goal – even that was courtesy of Artem Bondarenko putting the ball into his own net.
Giorgos Giakoumakis and Jota both had excellent chances to score in the second half. Despite their best efforts, we believe Postecoglou needs to arrange some finishing drills when he and his side return to Glasgow.
If the Bhoys intend to progress from Group F into the Round of 16, they must become more clinical in front of goal.
