Scott Brown featured for Celtic against Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup on Sunday afternoon.

John Hartson has told The Scottish Sun that Celtic midfielder Scott Brown is back to his best.

The former Celtic striker made the comments following the Bhoys’ 3-0 victory over Aberdeen at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Brown started the Scottish League Cup final and played for the entire 90 minutes.

Hartson was impressed with the performance of the 31-year-old Scotland international against Aberdeen, and believes that the former Hibernian midfielder is back to his best.

“Brown really is back to his best,” Hartson told The Scottish Sun. “He gets around the park, nibbling at the opposition. He was excellent, right from the very beginning.”

Brown is one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Premiership and is a key figure in the current Celtic team.

There have been fitness issues, but the Scotsman is playing well at the moment.

Having won the Scottish League Cup, Celtic will now be aiming to complete the domestic treble during the 2016-17 campaign.

The Scottish Premiership title is the Hoops to lose, and Brendan Rodgers’s side will also be favourites to clinch the Scottish Cup.

Celtic will return to action next weekend when they take on Motherwell away from home at the Fir Park Stadium in the Scottish Premiership.
