John Hartson praises Celtic ace.

James Forrest of Celtic celebrates his goal with Callum McGregor during the Betfred Cup Final at Hampden Park on November 26, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

John Hartson has praised Celtic star James Forrest and claimed he does not get the credit he deserves.

Forrest scored the winner for Celtic against Rangers at the weekend.

The winger’s goal has been glossed over very much so amid the controversy in and after the game with off the ball incidents.

Hartson has told the Evening Times that he believes Forrest deserves to be lauded.

He said: “James Forrest is another who doesn’t get as much praise as he should.

“Wee Jamsie has been an outstanding Celtic player for years now.

“His finish on Sunday, with so little time left and so much riding on it, was the action of a class footballer.”

Hartson is spot on, that it wasn’t so much just what Forrest did that made it special, but the timing of it.

Forrest disappointed for Scotland on international duty and received criticism as a result. He wasn’t the only one.

His performance for Celtic was a showcase of him at his best, and he is a strong contender for Celtic’s player of the season award.
