A move to Celtic has been speculated in recent weeks for Bony.

John Hartson has told BT Sport that he believes Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony would be a good signing for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic – but is unsure over whether the Hoops could afford the target man.
The 30-year-old striker has finally returned to action after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury last season, playing in five of Swansea’s last five Championship matches.
He scored in the 3-2 loss to Hull City and had the chance to nab a point against a free-scoring Aston Villa side on Boxing Day, but his penalty was denied by under-fire goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.
Former Celtic striker Hartson does believe the Ivory Coast international and ex-Manchester City striker would be a good signing, but he also claims that Bony’s contract will be difficult to afford for the Hoops.
“Bony is earning £80,000-a-week on a two-year contract, Celtic can’t stump up £3million to sign John McGinn,” Hartson said. “Swansea want him off the books. He would be a good signing, but there would be issues with his wages.”

A 52-time international, Bony has scored 39 Swansea goals in 93 appearances and once cost City a whopping £28million in the summer of 2015. But he managed just 11 goals for the Sky Blues.
Now in the Championship and desperately in need of both game time and form, Bony could be set to leave Swansea in the January transfer window as his contract ends in June. Swansea will be hoping to find a bidder, but a loan may be Celtic’s best bet.
