There was a bit of a shock development coming out of Celtic today.
The Hoops have confirmed that Leigh Griffiths had signed a new one-year deal to stay at Parkhead.
Griffiths, who hasn’t played a lot of football for Celtic these past few years, was out of contract in Glasgow this summer
But the club themselves have confirmed that he’ll be sticking around.
And Bhoys legend John Hartson claims the player could hit 25 goals next season under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
Realistic
He might be turning 31 in August, but Griffiths, on his day, is one of the best goalscorers in Scottish football.
And quite honestly, scoring 25 goals is a realistic target if he’s playing every week.
We’re talking about a striker who hit the 4o-goal barrier for Celtic during Ronny Deila’s last season in charge at Parkhead.
Griffiths can be an absolute monster in terms of goals and if Postecoglou can get the best out of him, this one-year extension will look like a masterstroke.
