John Hartson has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the performance of Tottenham Hotspur central defender Joe Rodon against Chelsea this evening.

The former Arsenal and Wales international striker was impressed by what he saw of Rodon in the Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.

Hartson has said that time will tell how good the 23-year-old can become, but he believes that the Wales international central defender is a “potential superstar”.

Former Tottenham star Graham Roberts was impressed with Rodon as well, and he has also praised the performances of Serge Aurier, Sergio Reguilon and Moussa Sissoko in the London derby, which ended in a goalless draw.

Player Stats

It was Rodon’s first start in a competitive match for Tottenham, and the 23-year-old – who joined the North London club from Championship outfit Swansea City in the summer of 2020 – did well at the back, as he looked comfortable on the ball and was calm and composed under pressure.

According to WhoScored, the Wales international had a pass accuracy of 83.3%, won one header, took 58 touches, and made two interceptions and four clearances.

Right-back Aurier took two shots of which one was on target, had a pass accuracy of 81.1%, won three headers, took 66 touches, attempted one dribble, and made two tackles, two interceptions and two clearances, according to WhoScored.

Left-back Reguilon had a pass accuracy of 73.5%, took 63 touches, made one clearance, and put in one cross, according to WhoScored.

Midfielder Sissoko had a pass accuracy of 69%, won one header, and took 36 touches, according to WhoScored.
