West Bromwich Albion completed arguably their most exciting signing of the summer on Friday morning, as the Baggies snapped up winger Oliver Burke from RB Leipzig.

Tony Pulis has overseen a strong start to the season, with 1-0 wins over Bournemouth and Burnley, whilst he has also strengthened his squad in the transfer market.

Ahmed Hegazy, Gareth Barry and Jay Rodriguez have all arrived to boost Pulis’ options, but he landed arguably his most exciting signing of the summer on Friday with the addition of Oliver Burke.

The former Nottingham Forest winger earned his big move to Germany with RB Leipzig last summer, having come up through the ranks at the City Ground, eventually hitting six goals in 31 games for Forest.

Burke’s promising displays earned him his move to the Bundesliga, but he struggled to break into the Leipzig side on a regular basis last term, starting just five league games and ending the season with only one goal and two assists.

Now, the Scotland international heads to The Hawthorns in a bid to play more first-team football, and Baggies fans should be excited to see the winger in action given his pace and power down the flanks.

In fact, one former Baggies star is delighted to see Burke join West Brom, as John Hartson – who scored six goals in 24 games during his time at The Hawthorns – took to Twitter to offer his verdict on the deal.

Hartson admitted that it was a shame to see Burke struggle for playing time with Leipzig, but believes it will be good to see him in the Premier League, praising West Brom’s move to sign him in a deal worth £15million (BBC Sport).
