Celtic won against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership on Friday evening.

John Hartson has praised Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths on social networking site Twitter.

The former Celtic and West Ham United striker was pleased to see the Scotland international score for the Bhoys against Partick Thistle away from home on Friday evening.

The 26-year-old found the net in the 50th minute of the Scottish Premiership encounter at the Firhill Stadium.

Stuart Armstrong scored twice and Callum McGregor added another, as Brendan Rodgers’s side won 4-1.

Griffiths is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership, but the former Wolverhampton Wanderers man is not guaranteed a place in the Celtic starting lineup at the moment.

The form of summer signing Moussa Dembele has been superb, and the 20-year-old seems to have established himself as the first-choice forward for the Bhoys.

The win against Thistle means that Celtic remain at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

The Glasgow giants have picked up 40 points from 14 matches so far this season, 11 points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers, who have played two more matches.
