The former West Ham United striker’s assessment was short but sweet.
John Hartson has reacted on Twitter to David Moyes’ appointment by West Ham United.
The Sun reported on Tuesday that West Ham made contact with a trio of high profile bosses, Carlo Ancelotti, Roberto Mancini and Rafa Benitez, before turning to Moyes on a six-month deal after each of them replied: “not interested”.
Moyes has left all three of his last three managerial roles, at Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland, within a year, and his arrival at the London Stadium has been met with severe underwhelment – despite the Scot’s successful 11 year spell in charge at Everton.
And it appears as though Hartson – who played for West Ham for two years in the 1990s – falls into the same category as most West Ham supporters.
“Moyes !!!”, wrote the Welshman, who added the crying face emoji.
West Ham sacked Slaven Bilic less than 24 hours before Moyes’ appointment, after Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool left the Hammers 18th in the Premier League.
Bilic played alongside Hartson, albeit briefly, at Upton Park.
