Pundit John Hartson has taken to Twitter to comment on Celtic’s performance against Anderlecht as they slipped to a 1-0 home defeat on Tuesday night.
Celtic went into their final game of the Champions League group stage knowing that they couldn’t make the knockout stages of the competition, but were hopeful of securing third place in their group.
As long as Celtic didn’t lose by a 3-0 scoreline, they would make it through to the Europa League – and it proved to be a nervy night for Brendan Rodgers’ men.

After an unconvincing first half display, Celtic fell behind after the break, as defender Jozo Simunovic put through his own net to give Anderlecht a 1-0 lead – and that’s how it stayed.
Celtic managed to keep Anderlecht at bay for the rest of the game, booking their place in the Europa League, meaning Rodgers’ European adventure this season isn’t over just yet.
It was a poor performance from Celtic, and Rodgers will be looking for ways to get the Bhoys impressing in Europe as they are in Scotland.
After the game, pundit and former Bhoys striker John Hartson took to Twitter to offer his view on the performance, urging fans to look at the bigger picture.
Hartson noted that Celtic can play better than they did, but is simply pleased that the Bhoys will be in Europe in the second half of the season.
