Despite Celtic’s considerably higher standing, it looked like being a frustrating night for Brendan Rodgers, as his side entered the final ten minutes of the game drawing 0-0.
However, James Forrest opened the scoring with seven minutes to go, and Moussa Dembele added a second goal in added time to hand Celtic a 2-0 victory.

After the final whistle, Celtic hero John Hartson took to Twitter to give his view on the game, claiming that it was a ‘good win’ for the Bhoys despite them finding it difficult to break Alloa down for 83 minutes.

Hartson then poked fun at Old Firm rivals Rangers, suggesting that he hopes Celtic get the easy passage into the final by drawing Rangers in the semi-finals, just weeks after Rodgers’ men hammered Rangers 5-1.
