Pundit and former Celtic striker John Hartson has taken to Twitter to react to the Bhoys’ 2-0 home defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Bhoys went into the game with high hopes having drawn 3-3 with Manchester City in their last Champions League game, and knew that a win over Bundesliga side Gladbach would aid their hopes of a third place finish and subsequent qualification for the knockout stages of the Europa League.

In front of a raucous Celtic Park crowd, Celtic had their chances but ended up being second best to Gladbach, with Lars Stindl and Andre Hahn pouncing on errors from Kolo Toure to win the game 2-0.
Celtic now sit bottom of the Group C table with one point to their name, and are two points adrift of third placed Gladbach ahead of the two teams meeting again in Germany in two weeks.

Manager Brendan Rodgers now has just one more home game in the group stage, and that’s against Barcelona, as Celtic’s hopes of extending their run in European football this season dwindled against Gladbach.
After the game, former Celtic striker John Hartson took to Twitter to offer his verdict on the result and the Bhoys’ performance.

Hartson suggested that Celtic may have underestimated how good Gladbach are given that they impressed in Glasgow despite lying ninth in the Bundesliga table.
Hartson added that he thinks Celtic now need to look ahead to Sunday’s Old Firm clash with Rangers in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals, rather than dwelling on Wednesday’s defeat.
