Celtic’s Scott Brown is down but he isn’t out, says John Hartson.

John Hartson has told The Glasgow Evening Times that he isn’t tolerating suggestions that Scott Brown is finished at Celtic.
The 33-year-old Celtic captain missed over a month of football due to injury recently.
In that time, Callum McGregor has been widely praised for how he has adapted to playing in that deep-lying midfield role.
In fact, McGregor has been so impressive that Brown has been unable to win his place back as of yet.
The no-nonsense Hoops skipper led Celtic to another domestic treble last term, and won a whole host of end-of-season individual awards.
And club legend Hartson simply can’t get his head around why some people are saying that this is the end of his 11-year spell at Parkhead.
He told The Glasgow Evening Times: “I am not having it that Brown, a Celtic captain, a club legend about to make his 500th club appearance, is done.
“Before his injury, Brown was the best thing since sliced bread. I can’t get my head around those who now say he’s finished. How has he gone from the team’s leader to being too old within a few weeks?

“I would still have the captain in my Celtic team. Every day of the week. Rodgers maybe has to work out who plays alongside him, but Brown remains key.”
Hartson is right. It’s far too early in the day to write off the former Scotland international. Not only is he very professional, but his appetite and competitiveness sets him apart from many, which is why he has enjoyed the distinguished career that he has done, and he won’t give up without a fight.
