Celtic have one foot in the next round of the Champions League qualifiers after hammering Estonian outfit Nomme Kalju 5-0 last night.

After seeing off FK Sarajevo in the last round, Celtic were expected to have no problems with Nomme Kalju, and that’s exactly how it played out.

Neil Lennon’s side completely dominated the game at Parkhead, and were 3-0 up by half time as Kristoffer Ajer, Ryan Christie and Leigh Griffiths all scored.

Christie added his second in a superb display after the break, and Callum McGregor sealed a 5-0 thumping with less than 15 minutes to play.

The tie is already over really, but outside of Christie’s outstanding performance, we also saw Griffiths enjoy an emotional moment with his goal.

The 28-year-old striker took an extended break from football in December and has only just returned to competitive action, but is already back in the goals after scoring a fine free kick.

Pundit John Hartson took to Twitter last night to praise Griffiths, but also hailing boss Lennon for trusting him in a starting role, calling the situation ‘class’.

Fans responded with jubilation, believing that the football on show last night was excellent, whilst backing Griffiths for a great season and throwing their support behind Lennon.
