John Hartson praises Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor

Callum McGregor is playing well for Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic at the moment.

John Hartson spoke highly of Celtic central midfielder Callum McGregor on BT Sport 3 on Thursday evening (7:33pm, February 14, 2019).

The former Celtic striker has been impressed with the performances of McGregor for the Hoops so far this season.

The former Wales international has also hailed the attitude the 25-year-old shows on the pitch.

Hartson said about McGregor on BT Sport 3 on Thursday evening (7:33pm, February 14, 2019): “He just seems like a boy who just enjoys his football. He plays with a smile on his face.

“He has been pivotal in Celtic’s success, Brendan Rodgers’s success in the two-and-a-half-years that he has been here.”

Quality footballer

McGregor is one of the best players in Scotland and has established himself as an important player in the Celtic team.

The 25-year-old has been on the books of the Glasgow giants his entire professional club football career so far, and the best years of the central midfielder are ahead of him.

According to WhoScored, the Scotland international has made 24 starts and one substitute appearance for Celtic so far this season, scoring three goals in the process.

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 57 points from 25 matches, five points clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers, who have played 26 games.
