John McGinn scored for Aston Villa on Saturday.

John Hartson and Gary Lineker have praised Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn on Twitter for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.
McGinn scored for Villa in the ninth minute of their Premier League game against Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The 24-year-old midfielder also played well in the match and gave a good account of himself in what was his first Premier League game.
According to WhoScored, the former St. Mirren and Hibernian star took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 85.2%, won one header, and made four tackles, one interception and two clearances.
Former Tottenham striker Lineker has praised McGinn for his goal against manager Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal and Celtic striker Hartson has also praised McGinn on Twitter, and believes that handing him a new contract this summer was the best transfer business that Villa did.
As announced on Villa’s official website, McGinn put pen to paper on a new five-year contract this month.
