Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic have their work cut-out if they are to progress from their Europa League group.

Ex-Celtic ace john Hartson spoke exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times, and insisted that his former side are still two or three quality players short of being able to make a sustained push for the Europa League this season.
The Hoops have been totally dominant domestically over the past seven years, but their performances on the continent have been nowhere near good enough.
Brendan Rodgers failed to adequately strengthen his squad during the summer transfer window, and he sold arguably his best player – Moussa Dembele.
Whilst Celtic are still being heavily tipped to win the Scottish Premiership title, not many fans or pundits expect them to flourish in Europe.
Hartson spoke exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times, and highlighted how Rodgers is still two or three players short of a potential Europa League winning side:

“Before anyone gets too excited about what Celtic could potentially do in the Europa League, I think they are at least two or three genuine quality players away from being able to achieve what we did in 2003.”
Celtic kick off their Europa League campaign with a home clash against Rosenborg on Thursday night, and nothing less than a win will do, if they are to have any chance of progressing through to the knock-out stages of the competition.
