Former Celtic player, John Hartson, believes that the Bhoys have the depth and quality in the side to win the Scottish Premiership title next season as well.

The 2016/17 campaign was one of the most memorable seasons in Celtic’s history, where the club won the historic domestic treble without losing a single game throughout.

In the SPL, Celtic managed 106 points from 38 games, 30 points ahead of second placed Aberdeen, and 39 points ahead of arch-rivals, Rangers.

The gap between Celtic and their nearest rivals is simply massive, and Hartson believes that it will be hard for the chasing packs to dethrone the Hoops so easily.

Hartson predicted Rangers to finish fourth last season, but the Gers proved him wrong with a third-place finish. He says all the other teams apart from Celtic should be looking to fight for the second spot.

The Celtic hero adds that Brendan Rodgers’ boys may lose one or two odd games, but in the end they will be crowned champions. Not for the next season, but for the next two to three years as well.

“I said Rangers would finish fourth last season and they were third. The battle for all the others is second because Celtic are so far ahead,” said Hartson, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“They might lose the odd game but for the next two or three years you might as well give Celtic the title. Rangers, Aberdeen, St Johnstone and Hearts are all battling for second.”
