Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers are far behind Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table.

John Hartson has suggested in The Scottish Sun that Rangers will not be able to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
Celtic have already won the Scottish Premiership title this campaign, their sixth in a row, while Rangers are not even going to finish second.
The Gers are as many as 36 points behind Brendan Rodgers’s side in third place in the league table at the moment, and former Celtic striker Hartson does not think that Pedro Caixinha’s side will be able to close the gap next season.

Hartson has claimed that Rangers fans are kidding themselves if they believe that the team can challenge the Hoops during the 2017-18 campaign.
“Rangers fans are living in la-la land if they think they’re capable of challenging Celtic any time soon,” Hartson wrote in The Scottish Sun.
“They’re deranged if they believe things are going to be different this time next year. Celtic are so far in front right now they can’t even see them in their rear-view mirror.”
Celtic have the strongest team in the Scottish Premiership and have some of the best players in the division, and it is indeed going to be hard for Rangers to close the gap.
While the Gers may not be able to compete for the league title, if they make some good signings in the summer transfer window, then they could at least be able to push the Hoops.
