John Hartson has urged Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers to play both Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths against Rangers.

Former Celtic striker and current pundit John Hartson has taken to Twitter to suggest that manager Brendan Rodgers has a real problem regarding Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.

Celtic made it 16 wins in 17 games in the Scottish Premiership on Tuesday evening, as Scott Sinclair’s first half goal helped the Bhoys claim a 1-0 win over Partick Thistle at Celtic Park.

The Bhoys now head towards Christmas sitting 14 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, and whilst the focus now turns to Hamilton Academical on Saturday, many fans are already looking towards the New Year’s Eve clash with Old Firm rivals Rangers.

Rodgers claimed a 5-1 win in his first game against Rangers back in September, and a win at Ibrox at the end of the month would all but seal the title for Celtic.

Rodgers will have some selection dilemmas for that game though, and one of the main decisions he’ll have to make will be whether to start Moussa Dembele or Leigh Griffiths up front, or possibly both.

Griffiths was Celtic’s leading striker last season with 40 goals in all competitions, but summer signing Dembele has hit 17 goals in 33 games this season – including a hat-trick against Rangers in that 5-1 win earlier this season.

Ahead of the game against Rangers, former Bhoys striker and current pundit John Hartson has taken to Twitter to comment on Dembele and Griffiths, suggesting that Rodgers faces a real problem over who to pick at Ibrox.

Hartson did offer his own advice to Rodgers though, stating that he thinks both strikers should start, in what would be an attacking line-up from Celtic and manager Rodgers, and a combination rarely used this season.
