Marvin Compper hasn’t enjoyed his first seven months at Celtic.

John Hartson has admitted to The Glasgow Evening Times that Marvin Compper has endured a “nightmare” start to life as a Celtic player, but hopes to see more of him this season.
The German centre-back joined Celtic for £1 million in January.
However, he managed only one game for the Hoops during the second half of last season due to injury.
Compper had earned some game time under Brendan Rodgers in pre-season in recent weeks, but the Northern Irishman confirmed at the weekend that he is back on the sidelines.
At 32, Compper is comfortably Celtic’s most senior central defender, and Hartson is hopeful that the experienced stalwart can add something to Rodgers’s side over the coming season.
“The guy has had a nightmare since he arrived at the club last January in the winter transfer market,” he told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“He has barely played – I think he’s got one competitive appearance against Morton in the Scottish Cup to his name – but he is contracted for another season at the club.
“He is an experienced player and you’d like to think that at some point he will get a decent bit of game time in order that we see what he has got.”
Indeed, Compper has hardly proven to be an inspired signing, but the former RB Leipzig star – who has been capped by Germany – is a good defender.
Whether he can show it for the Parkhead side this season, however, remains to be seen.
