Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic will face Rosenborg in the Europa League this week.
Sinclair has struggled to play to the level he did back in his debut season in 2016-17, but there have been signs that the former Aston Villa and Swansea City winger is getting his rhythm back.
According to Transfermarkt.com, the English winger has scored two goals and provided two assists in 10 Scottish Premiership appearances.
The 29-year-old former Chelsea and Manchester City winger will expect to start for Celtic against Rosenborg away from home in the Europa League Group B on Thursday evening.
After all, Sinclair started the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership game against Hamilton Academical away from home at the weekend and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The English winger played well and continued to the 3-0 win for the Hoops, but former Celtic striker Hartson believes that manager Brendan Rodgers will drop the 29-year-old from the starting lineup against Rosenborg.
Hartson wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times: “For me, it will probably be Scott Sinclair who makes way but even that I think is a bit harsh on the lad.
“Over recent weeks I think we have seen a revival in form from him and he will rightly be disappointed if he finds himself on the bench this week.”
