The Arsenal striker has come in for criticism again this past season.
Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud
Speaking to the Daily Star, John Hartson has urged Arsene Wenger to drop Olivier Giroud next season.
The French striker endured a strong start to the season, as the Gunners mounted a strong challenge for the Premier League title.
Just like his team though, he fell away in the second half of the campaign, going on the longest goal drought of his career as his side fell away in the title race.

His form in the beginning of the campaign had seen him come in for praise, with some suggestion he was indeed the world-class striker that they need.
However, those hopes were quickly extinguished as he struggled in 2016, with many insisting he now needs to be replaced at the club this summer.
And Hartson is among those believing he should be dropped for an elite level striker.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
“He’s probably in that next group down from the elite. He’s in the B list, he’s not A list,” he told the Daily Star.
“I don’t want to criticise him and he’s certainly a trier but if Wenger bought in another guy of equal style, that guy would start all day long before Giroud.”
Unfortunately for Giroud, it certainly appears as if Arsenal are intent on spending money this summer to fix their problems for last season.
They have already spent big money to secure midfielder Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach, and it seems unlikely he will be the only one arriving.
