French striker Edouard was excellent in Celtic’s 5-0 win over Rangers on Sunday.

Celtic hero John Hartson has backed the Hoops to complete the permanent signing of on-loan ace Odsonne Edouard in his Glasgow Evening Times column, after the Frenchman’s heroics on Sunday.
The 20-year-old opened the scoring on Sunday during Celtic’s 5-0 win, as he pounced on a Kieran Tierney cross to turn the ball home. He doubled his tally and his side’s lead in the 41st minute, scoring a superb solo effort.
At times, Paris Saint-Germain loanee Edouard has been seen as third choice behind Leigh Griffiths and Mousa Dembele. But with Dembele injured, Edouard was picked over Griffiths on the weekend and showed just what he can do.

Hartson believes Edouard would be the perfect summer signing as he “fits the mould” at Celtic, should Brendan Rodgers look to complete a permanent deal for the 13-time France Under-19 international.
“I do think that Edouard fits the mould,” Hartson said. “He has netted 11 goals now in 28 appearances for the club and that has been when he has effectively been the third choice striker.
“He has shown that he has the temperament for it with the goals he has scored in the big games. There is every chance that for your initial outlay you then make a sizeable profit on a couple of years down the line.”

The Daily Mail claim Celtic must spend £7million to land Edouard on a permanent basis, which would indeed break Celtic’s current club-record transfer fee which currently stands at £6million on Hartson and Chris Sutton.
Rodgers’ most expensive transfer at Celtic since arriving at the club has been midfielder Olivier Ntcham, but with the influx of Champions League funds, the Hoops may have more power in the market this summer.
