Celtic’s new signing Scott Sinclair scored the winner against Hearts today.
Scott Sinclair celebrates after scoring for Aston Villa
Celtic won their opening game of the new Scottish Premiership season with a 2-1 victory away at Hearts, with Scott Sinclair proving to be the hero.
The Bhoys took an early lead at Tynecastle as James Forrest cut inside from the right flank to bend a shot into the net, but were pegged back before half time after Jamie Walker won a controversial penalty, and stepped up to draw Hearts level.

As the game headed into the final ten minutes, Celtic needed a spark – and they got just that from new signing Scott Sinclair, who only joined the Bhoys from Aston Villa this morning.
The 27-year-old winger penned a four-year deal at Celtic Park earlier today, reuniting with manager Brendan Rodgers having worked together at both Chelsea and Swansea City.

Surprisingly thrown onto the bench against Hearts just hours after signing his contract, Sinclair came on and won the game for Celtic as he turned home a Leigh Griffiths cross to finish off a sweeping counter-attack and claim all three points for Rodgers’ men.
It was a dream debut for Sinclair, and after the game he received praise from a number of pundits and former Celtic players on Twitter.

Former striker Chris Sutton suggested that it was great for Sinclair to score on his debut, much like Sutton did on his debut for Celtic, whilst he admitted that former Bhoys midfielder Stiliyan Petrov had told him that Sinclair is a ‘really ncie guy’.
John Hartson stated that he believed Rodgers was the man to kick start Sinclair’s career again, whilst BBC pundit Trevor Sinclair remarked on a good start for Celtic and for Sinclair following today’s success.
