Celtic’s James Forrest is in sensational form right now.

John Hartson commentates during the Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City at White Hart Lane on May 16, 2015 in London, England.

Pundit and former Celtic star John Hartson has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he would ‘love’ to play alongside Bhoys ace James Forrest.

Celtic are in fine form of late, and no player sums it up better than winger Forrest right now, who may just be playing his best football yet.

The 27-year-old has hit seven goals in his last seven games for Celtic, and has now taken his superb form onto the international stage with Scotland.

Forrest scored twice in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Albania, with his second goal particularly impressive, taking a fine touch before smashing into the net on the volley.

Forrest has become one of the first names on Brendan Rodgers’ teamsheet this season, and it would be little surprise to see Premier League clubs even take a look at signing him.

The winger’s performances have now earned praise from ex-Celtic striker Hartson, with the pundit suggesting that he would ‘love’ to play alongside Forrest.

Hartson added that he thinks Forrest is a ‘really good, hard working’ player, and highlighted that it’s ‘frightening’ to think that ex-manager Ronny Deila was prepared to let Forrest go, only for Rodgers to keep him at Parkhead.

“If I was in that Celtic team know I guarantee you that I would love to play alongside Forrest,” said Hartson. “Within a matter of games I think he would know exactly where to float it in for me at the back post and I honestly think he’d set me up a fair few.”

“He’s a really good kid, a hard working boy and it is frightening to think that he was on his way out of the door just as Brendan Rodgers arrived at Celtic. He has given him confidence and belief, he has added a real goal threat to his game and what you are seeing now is a player who is at the peak of his career,” he added.
