John Daly posted a truly stunning round of nine-under par 63 on Saturday at the DICK’S Open.
Daly’s exceptional round on day two of the DICK’S Open came out of absolutely nowhere.
Before Saturday’s round in Endicott, New York, his lowest round so far this season had been a 67, and he has failed to finish inside the top-20 in a solo event in six starts.
However, John Daly rolled back the years at En-Joie Golf Club on day two of the DICK’S Open.

The 60-year-old carded seven birdies and an eagle to jump inside the top-15 after a pedestrian opening round of 73.
He now has a genuine chance of winning, but he will obviously need to shoot another low score on Sunday to do just that.
John Daly sends message to his fans after shooting 63 at the DICK’S Open
There is no denying the fact that John Daly is one of the most talented golfers to have ever graced the game.
However, he has always enjoyed himself away from the golf course, and never had the drive and hunger to practice hard and work on his game.
He has always been capable of beating the very best players in the world on any given day, and his round of 63 on Saturday was an example of that.
After his round, Daly responded when asked what he has made of the support from the fans this week in New York.
“I’ve always loved them,“ The Wild Thing said.

“There are no skeletons in my closet. When I screw up, I screw up and I tell them. When I do things good, they see it. I’ve never lied to my fans.
“I think a lot of them relate to the life that I’ve lived and some of the ups and downs that I’ve had.
“We just connect so good and it’s been that way for 35 years. I wouldn’t change it for the world, I love them.“
John Daly sums up his second round at the DICK’S Open
Daly responded when asked to share his thoughts on his superb round of 63 at En-Joie Golf Club.
“I hit it a little closer today. I mean, I hit the ball pretty good yesterday, just couldn’t get anything out of it, just couldn’t get anything close,“ he said.
“But today, chipped in twice and made a 60-footer, that always helps. Hit the ball good today, hit a lot of fairways and made a few putts.
“I haven’t seen a driving range in five years, no. I don’t work on my golf game. I play enough pro-ams here to get a lot of work in.
“I love everything about it (the golf course). For me, I’ve been a cutter of the ball for about 20-something years now.
“It’s tough because I used to — when I won here in ’92, I was hitting about a 20-yard draw and hitting it about 360 off the tee, which this really favors a draw.
“It’s tougher for me because everything sets up for a draw. Like the par 5s draw right to left, so it’s harder for me. Plus, I don’t hit it as far as I used to, so I’m not hitting 8-irons in these par 5s like I did back then. I’m barely getting to them. It’s a lot tougher golf course.
“And the golf course is in great shape. It’s probably the longest it’s played. I heard it’s playing longer than Hartford.“
