Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side were beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich in Champions League action last night.

Celtic took on Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and they failed to really challenge the German champions.
Celtic were thoroughly outplayed by Jupp Heynckes’ side, and fell to a 3-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena.
The Bhoys’ task of beating Bayern was always going to be challenging, but Collins felt that the Bhoys were a long way off the pace.

“Celtic were poor. They couldn’t retain possession. Bayern pressed high and forced the goalkeeper to kick it long, and his kicking was poor,” the former Bhoys assistant manager said.
“The SPL does not prepare Celtic for Champions League football, nobody goes to press them high in the SPL.
“Gamboa on the right hand side really struggled, but he never got any help.”
Celtic fell behind early on against Bayern, when Thomas Muller finished from close range, and they rarely threatened to get back into the contest.

The Bhoys conceded further goals to Joshua Kimmich and Mats Hummels, as the hosts picked up a comfortable three points.
Celtic have experienced highs and lows in the Champions League this term, but they are still in a good position to finish third in their group.
The Bhoys have beaten Anderlecht to ensure that they are currently in third spot in their Champions League group.
