Former WWE superstar John Cena has been posting about the 2026 World Cup, which is taking place in North America.
This summer’s tournament has been expanded to a record 48 teams, meaning there is now a Round of 32 knockout phase.
The extra slot also means that a number of countries that may previously have struggled to qualify for the showpiece are now competing in the USA, Canada and Mexico. One of whom is Curacao, and they have been messaging John Cena on Instagram.

Curacao tell John Cena he can see them now after 7-1 loss to Germany
Up until 2026, Curacao had never competed at any World Cup throughout their history.
Their first-ever game at the tournament took place on Sunday afternoon against one of Europe’s top sides, Germany.
Perhaps as expected, the World Cup newcomers were no match for Germany and were easily beaten 7-1.
However, scoring their first goal in the competition is something to celebrate, with Livano Comenencia taking the honours in the 21st minute of the match.
Following his goal, Cena took to his official Instagram page to share a photo of Comenencia celebrating against Germany.
As is the case with every Instagram post from the ex-WWE Champion, he did not add a caption or comment.
However, Curacao’s official national team page took to the comment section to send a message to Cena.
They wrote: “You can see us now,” of course referencing Cena’s famous catchphrase ‘you can’t see me’.
Curacao are now set to return to the field this coming Saturday against Ecuador and will be looking to garner their first points at a World Cup.
Their group-stage campaign ends on June 25 with a meeting against the Ivory Coast.
