John Carew has posted on his Instagram story ‘My lil bro coming home?’ as he was reacting to Ashley Young possibly returning to Aston Villa this summer.
Sky Sports are reporting that Young, who will be out of contract at Inter this month, is in line for a return to Villa Park.
The last time Young was donning the Claret & Blue colours at B6, he was wreaking havoc with Holte-End hero, Carew on the Villa Park turf.
And many years later, it seems as though Young will be gracing that pitch once more if a deal for his services goes through during these coming weeks.
Carew hasn’t been the only ex-Villa player hinting at the possibility of Young returning, with Gabby Agbonlahor also teasing fans with this Instagram post about the winger turned fullback on Wednesday.
If Young does make an expected return to Villa then it would be a smart move by those in the boardroom.
The Midlands side aren’t paying any fee for his talents, he has vasts amounts of experience, trophy-winning experience, international experience and the ability to play in various roles across the pitch.
Either way, with Emi Buendia, also signed up by the club this summer, someone like Ollie Watkins is going to get a lot of service with the amount of final-ball quality that could be at Dean Smith’s disposal.

From Jack Grealish’s ball-carrying ability, Buendia’s quick-thinking talents in the pockets, Bertrand Traore’s dancing moves that put opposition players on their backside out on the flanks and the crossing quality from Young.
Not forgetting the under-rated duo of Matt Targett and Matty Cash.
This is a Villa side on the up, progressing and looking to return to Europe next season.
