Danny Ings has struggled with injury during his spell at Liverpool.

John Arne Riise has taken to social networking site Twitter to share his hopes regarding Liverpool forward Danny Ings.

Ings has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2015, but the 24-year-old has struggled with injuries and fitness issues for the past two years.

The Reds signed the 24-year-old in the summer of 2015 following his departure from Burnley at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

As reported by The Guardian in April 2016, Liverpool were ordered to pay the Clarets a tribunal fee of £6.5 million plus £1.5m in add-ons for the services of the England international forward.

Ings, who was signed by Liverpool when current Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was in charge of the Reds’ first team, is recovering well and is training with his teammates at Melwood.

Former Liverpool star Riise has taken to Twitter to share his hopes regarding Ings.

Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League last season and stand a chance of playing in the group stage of the Champions League during the 2017-18 campaign.
