John Arne Riise seems to rate Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno highly.

John Arne Riise has stated on social networking site Twitter that he is nervous about Liverpool’s issues in central defence.

The former Liverpool star, who could play as a left-back or as a left-winger, is pleased with the Reds’ performances and players in attack.

However, the former Norway international is worried about Liverpool’s issues at centre-back, but he seems to have confidence in left-back Alberto Moreno.

Riise has been impressed with the performances of the 25-year-old Spanish left-back in pre-season, and believes that the former Sevilla man could be like a new signing.

Moreno has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2014 when he joined from Spanish outfit Sevilla for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £12 million.

Despite being a promising left-back, the 25-year-old has looked vulnerable defensively and lost his place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup last season.

Liverpool fans actually want the club to sell Moreno in the summer transfer window, according to posts on Twitter (click here to read more), but it seems that Riise rates him.

Riise has also praised 19-year-old striker Dominic Solanke, who joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window after leaving Chelsea at the end of last season.
