Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be set to appoint Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister as their new managerial team.

Manager Gary McAllister of Leeds looks dejected during the Coca-Cola League One match between Leeds United and Tranmere Rovers at Elland Road on February 2, 2008 in Leeds, England.

Glasgow Rangers fans have told John Arne Riise to ensure Gary McAllister is in Scotland tomorrow, as he closes in on becoming Steven Gerrard’s assistant boss at Ibrox.

According to the Daily Record, Gerrard and McAllister are set to take over at Rangers in the coming days.

Steven Gerrard of BT Sport looks on during the Emirates FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on May 27, 2017 in London, England.

The pair were in Rome last night though, as Liverpool took on Roma in the Champions League.

And Riise’s post with his former teammate on social media was quickly spotted by Rangers supporters.

There is great excitement about what a managerial team of McAllister and Gerrard could do at Ibrox.

Gerrard may have no senior managerial experience, but his high-profile reputation is expected to attract players to Rangers.

The task with the Gers is a big one, as they are currently so far behind Celtic.

But Gerrard is expected to oversee a clear out in the near future, and Rangers fans are hoping that the team will be much improved next season.
