John Aldridge has written in The Sunday World that Liverpool should sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Liverpool striker believes that the Reds should bring in Kane from Premier League rivals Tottenham to replace Roberto Firmino.

Aldridge wrote in The Sunday World: “Then we come to Firmino, who has been struggling for so long now that we cannot say he is out of form.

“When I mentioned Liverpool should try to sign Harry Kane in my column last Sunday, it was to replace Firmino because Klopp’s team create so many chances and they are just not taking enough of them.”

Aldridge was referring to his comments in The Sunday World last weekend when he urged Liverpool to sign Kane.

The former Anfield hero wrote: “If Liverpool’s owners want to give the fans a gift by way of an apology for their decision to be part of the European Super League fiasco, signing a player like Kane would be an incredible way of doing it.”

Sky Sports reported this month that Kane has told Tottenham that he wants to leave this summer.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all are reportedly interested in the 27-year-old.

There are no credible reports that Liverpool want to sign Kane.

Now, there is no doubt that the English striker would make Liverpool more potent in attack.

After all, the 27-year-old is a world-class striker who scored 23 goals in the Premier League this season, one more than Mohamed Salah.

However, it is hard to see Liverpool splash £150 million on a single player this summer.

The Telegraph claims that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants £150 million for Kane.

Liverpool are a rich club who will play in the Champions League next season.

Kane could be tempted into making a move to Anfield and working with manager Jurgen Klopp.

While Kane would be a stunning signing for Liverpool, perhaps the Reds should keep faith in Brazilian forward Firmino, who fits the way Klopp plays.
