John Aldridge has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Liverpool’s win against Atalanta this evening.
Liverpool have got the better of Atalanta 5-0 away from home in Champions League Group D.
Diogo Jota, signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2020, was the star of the show, as the Portugal international winger scored a hat-trick.
Former Liverpool striker Aldridge was following the match, and he is overjoyed with the performance and the final result.
The former Republic of Ireland international has also said that Jota has cemented his place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup for the Premier League game against Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Aldridge believes that Jota will take the place of Roberto Firmino in the team against Pep Guardiola’s side, adding that such a heathy competition is good for the side.
The win against Atalanta means that Liverpool are at the top of Champions League Group D with nine points from three matches.
The defending English champions are also at the top of the Premier League table at the moment.
