John Aldridge has said on Twitter that Liverpool should not have included Naby Keita in the starting lineup against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.

The former Liverpool player believes that Keita is “a luxury” midfielder defensively, and he did not want the £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) player to start.

Wolves, who are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, beat Liverpool 3-0 in front of their own fans.

Keita started the match for Liverpool and played for 65 minutes.

Jordan Henderson replaced the 27-year-old Guinea international midfielder.

It was a really disappointing game for Keita.

While the midfielder did make a couple of good forward runs early on, he struggled to make any impact whatsoever after that and just did not seem to get a footing in the middle of the park.

Now, Keita did try, but it just did not happen for him.

Just like it did not for the rest of his Liverpool teammates.

While the result will enhance Wolves’ chances of escaping the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season, Liverpool are now looking very unlikely to finish in the Premier League top four.
