Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has criticised referee Martin Atkinson on Twitter for his officiating of the Premier League game between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Aldridge has suggested that Liverpool have had decisions go against them when Atkinson has been in charge of officiating their games.

The former Republic of Ireland international striker has also suggested that Tottenham star Son Heung-min should not have been sent off for his late challenge on Everton midfielder Andre Gomes at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, former Tottenham star Micky Hazard has also taken to Twitter to give his take on controversial refereeing decisions during the match.

Tottenham are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with 13 points from 11 matches, as many as 10 points behind Chelsea, who are currently fourth in the standings and occupy the final Champions League spot.

As for Everton, Marco Silva’s side are just three points above the relegation zone in 17th place.
