Dedryck Boyata joined Celtic in 2015.

Johan Mjallby has praised Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata to The Scottish Sun.
The former Celtic and Sweden international central defender was impressed with the performance of Boyata for the Hoops against Rangers at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.
The 27-year-old defender played well for Brendan Rodgers’s side at the back and was a key figure in their win in the Old Firm derby.
Mjallby – who was part of part of Neil Lennon’s backroom staff at Celtic as an assistant manager – has spoken highly of Boyata, and believes that the former Manchester City defender can still improve.
“He’s going to be very important at the back,” Mjallby told The Scottish Sun about Boyata. “He should be a leader now and he was superb against Rangers. He’s at a good age now to improve even more.”

Quality defender
Boyata is one of the best central defenders in the Scottish Premiership and is a key figure in the current Celtic team.
Although the Belgium international does make mistakes from time to time, there is no doubt that at the moment he is the best central defender Celtic have got.
The 27-year-old is not at his peak yet, and as Mjallby says, the defender can get better in the coming years.
Boyata has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Manchester City for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1.5 million and when Ronny Deila was in charge of the Glasgow giants.
