Callum McGregor is an important player for Celtic.

Mjallby, who played for Celtic from 1998 until 2004 and was a coach at the Bhoys from 2010 until 2014, has admitted that he did not expect the 26-year-old to be as good as he is right now.
Mjallby said about McGregor on BT Sport: “I am so impressed by Callum because I remember him. He has done it the hard way, going on loan down south to Notts County, and now he is playing his best football.”
When asked if he could see McGregor become so good, Mjallby said: “To be honest, no. We all saw the talent in him. It’s excellent. I didn’t know if he would get the aggression to really play at this level, but he is there and has been brilliant.”
Important player for Celtic
McGregor has been superb for Celtic over the years and has been one of the best players for the Glasgow giants.
The 26-year-old is one of the first names on the Hoops’ teamsheet, and his best years are ahead of him.
With the Scotland international having recently signed a new contract with the Hoops, it seems that he is settled at the club and wants to stay at Celtic Park in the long term.
McGregor has scored two goals in 11 Scottish Premiership matches and has played in four Europa League games for Celtic so far this season, according to WhoScored.
