Scott Brown is one of the best players in Scotland, and despite being 33 years of age now, the former Scotland international remains an important player for Celtic.
Brown has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million.
The 33-year-old has led the Hoops by example over the years, and is one of the best captains the Glasgow giants have ever had in their long and illustrious history.
Hugely popular among the Celtic Park faithful, the midfielder has won the league title with the Hoops eight times, the Scottish Cup on four occasions and the Scottish League Cup five times with the Bhoys.
Brown could end his career at Celtic and as a legend of the club, and Johan Mjallby has spoken highly of him.
The former Celtic assistant manager worked with Brown at the Hoops, and he has praised the Scotsman for not leaving the Glasgow giants and staying at the club.
Mjallby told The Scottish Sun about Brown: “Captaining Celtic to a treble Treble is much better than playing in England for a few years. Scott is already a legend in the eyes of the fans but I would doubt if the feat would ever be done again.
“I am not surprised Scott is still at Celtic because he is comfortable here. He is one of the most important characters at the club.
“That, along with winning trophies and playing in Europe every season, means more to Scott than earning more money at a mid-table team in England.”
