The former Rangers man’s time at Ibrox was ridden with controversy.
Former Rangers midfielder Joey Barton spoke to Jim White for an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, and once again refused to show any kind of remorse for his actions during his time at Ibrox.

The 34-year-old, who is now back at Turf Moor with Burnley, endured a woeful five months with Mark Warburton’s men, and made just eight appearances for the Glasgow giants.
His behavioural issues came back to haunt him during his time at Rangers, and his contract was eventually terminated.

And Barton spoke to talkSPORT about his view on his failed stint in Scotland, insisting that he has nothing to apologise for:
“The facts of the matter are that Rangers are 27 points behind Celtic. I was trying to win at Rangers. I went in there with the ability, knowledge and expertise on how to win – but it didn’t work out. That wasn’t through any lack of desire or determination but ultimately I’m a footballer, I have a contract of employment and maybe the way I go about things isn’t entirely in everybody’s fashion. I can’t and won’t apologise for that.”

Barton’s second spell with Burnley has so far gone without incident, and he has made four Premier League appearances for the Clarets, chipping in with a single goal.
One thing that is evident though, is that he will never be able to leave the troubles he had at Rangers being him, with so much focus still on his disastrous five month spell in Glasgow.

And with Barton’s latest comments, he doesn’t seem like he wants to make life any easier for himself either.
