Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United players make up Burnley midfielder Joey Barton’s list.
Burnley midfielder Joey Barton has revealed on social networking site Twitter his picks for the PFA Team of the Year.
Barton has picked four Tottenham Hotspur players and four Chelsea stars. Everton, Manchester United and Liverpool are also represented in the Englishman’s list.
The former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City midfielder has selected Hugo Lloris (Tottenham) as his goalkeeper, and Kyle Walker (Tottenham), Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham), Gary Cahill (Chelsea) and Marcos Alonso (Chelsea) in defence.
N’Golo Kante (Chelsea), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Dele Alli (Tottenham) and Sadio Mane (Liverpool) are Barton’s midfielders, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United) and Romelu Lukaku (Everton) are the front two.
It is hard to disagree with Barton’s selection, although many will claim that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane should be in the list.
The England international has scored 19 goals and provided four assists in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season.
Had Kane not suffered with injuries, then the 23-year-old could have been ahead of Everton striker Lukaku in the Premier League top scorers’ charts at the moment.
