Rangers midfielder had an eye on Manchester City’s fixture last night, but Celtic fans continue to torment him.

Joey Barton continued his mockery of Neymar last night by poking fun at the Brazilian superstar.

The outspoken midfielder once infamously decried the striker as overrated, only for him to firmly establish himself as one of the world’s most exciting strikers.

Last night was not so successful for him, with Barcelona going down 3-1 to an Ilkay Gundogan inspired Manchester City.

Rangers midfielder Barton could not resist the chance to poke fun at Neymar again, asking where he disappeared to in the second half.

While perhaps a pertinent question, just why Neymar went missing, the fact the messenger was Joey Barton saw it largely ignored.

Barton is still reeling from going missing in a big fixture himself, Rangers 5-1 loss to Celtic, a match he had pledged to dominate.

The following week he was suspended by the club after a training ground row, and has not played for the Gers since.

His downfall has been greeted with hilarity on the other side of Glasgow, and Celtic fans were quick to rip into him in reply to his ‘witty’ comment about Neymar…
